Magic Pool vs Sexy Poolers Special Edition Recap!

So what it comes down to in the final week of play in GIT is an SP win of 5-0 to get in without help, or a win of 2 games or more then EPC and an EPC loss. Here is a game by game recap of MP vs SP:

MP vs SP --- Final Playoff Spot

Game 1:

MP_p00l_nutz vs SP_king.2068

King run breaks pots nothing, p00l takes stripes leaving King with solids and proceeds to safety. With a cluster of balls in the upper right, King has a decision to bangrun or to play it safe. King opts what looked to be like a bang run but pots 2 balls and is back to square one with the cluster of balls near top right pocket. Pots the purple to leave him with no remaining shot on the 3 remaining solids. He safeties. With the remaining half to play King literally has given p00l_nutz complete control over the game. He trys to bang out a few solid balls which intern gives p00l_nutz a relatively open and easy run. With King's red ball the only ball in the way, p00l attempts a few bangs at knocking it off right rail for a shot on his purple and succeeds. p00l_nutz easily runs pink, purp but instead of putting cue over by 8 he elects to shoot a long range shot from right on the right rail to an 8 that is slightly lower then his cueball into top left pocket. He drills it and gives MP a quick and easy 1-0 lead over SP. With this game 1 loss SP WILL need some help from EPC or a win vs MP to make the playoffs.

Game 2:

MP_xlx_skill_xlx vs SP_shaggyman

Down 1 game to none, shaggyman will have to step it up against one of Magic Pools (as well as GIT's) top players Jordy. Shaggy elects to runbreak and his break is a beauty. Not one ball touching another. Now can he run it? He pots blue stripe bottom left, pink in top right, green in bottom right with a bit of a bang to break up 8. On 5th run ball, he pots orange in top right with a difficult english and fails to have any straight in shot. While Jordy looks *on, Shaggy attempts a combo in mid table and drills it, but hangs cue in top middle pocket. His next shot, is a hanging cue and a yellow in top mid of right side of table. Looks to me like he will need to bank to avoid the "nipple" but what do I know? He banks hard and does not give up bih, but does give up cue and most likely the game. Lets see if Jordy can run 2 more balls then Shaggy has. With a wideopen table, Jordy pots 1 ball and MISSES! Lucky for Jordy, still no shot for his opponent. Shaggy is going to have to pull off something special here. Tries a double bank but pots one ofJordys balls and cue to give bih. Now with only a 4 ball open table run, can Jordy redeem himself, and he misses on 8!!! Mr_shaggy ties it up at 1-1 with an easy 2 ball runout.

Game 3:

MP_RiffRaff20 vs SP_freak.ofpool

With the match tied at 1 this will be the pivitol game that, in my opinion, will decide the match. Freak.ofpool breaks and pots a few stripes and a solid. Takes solids and proceeds to bang in a few more stripes along with her solid. Then decides to let Joe take his turn at a run by potting his ball in hopes of him not being able to run. With 3 balls left however, Joe sinks a shot and bangs out 2 balls for a slightly difficult 4 ball run to win it. He pots his remaining 2 balls and gets a little lucky on the leave on 8. Shoots it in top middle to quickly give MP a 2-1 lead.

Score: 2-1 MP

Game 4:

MP_aaaaaaaaanil vs SP_arusluv

With only 2 games left to play for these 2 leagues (maybe for the season), SP must come from behind and win, with help from EPC to make the playoffs. All MP has to do is win 1 of these 2 games and they are in. So MP puts all the marbles on anil (to be expected), and for SP they chose Aaron aka arusluv. After the runbreak, both players seem hesitent to run. After a few "value shots" anil decides to take the chance at the run. He takes solids and is off to the races. With a semi bang run he is attempting, he misses badly on a top center cut shot with top spin to give Aaron what looks to be a relatively open table. Aaron tries a long shot on orange in top right but ends up scratching which gives anil a VERY easy run to take MP to the playoffs. Anil proceeds to pot green in lower right and bang out blue stripe correctly. He then misses on long shot on blue!!! Leaves an opportunity for Aaron to tie things up at 2? With an even easier 3 ball run, aaron sinks one ball...while almost drawing back cue into top middle pocket. He then sinks pink stripe and OH again! almost sinks cue in bottom middle pocket..it rims in and out. With an easy shot on 8, Aaron successfully, althought crazily, wins game 4 for SP to keep their playoff hopes alive!

Game 5 (Decider):

MP_dont_miss_2009 vs SP_poundings

Well with a game 5 decider for SP's playoff hopes, these 2 players are chosen. If SP do win, they will need EPC to lose 1-4 or 0-5 to makek a playoff spot. Poundings takes the break for SP and another runbreak it is however failing to pot a ball. Dont_miss elects to pot stripes and then snooks. Sexy Pooler poundings then proceeds to use a solid to pot a stripe. Dont_miss then preceeds to shoot the wrong ball in, and give poundings an SP player bih. He will try the 7 ball run. He successfuly completes the run to give SP the final game win and the match win 3-2.

Match Final Score: 3-2 SP

G-I-T Week 13 - Top 10

With FR losing for its 3rd straight contest... its not a tall tail as to why. Craig #2(wk 12) and Petey #4(wk 12) both losing this week along with Soccergod our #1 from the past week not playing again, things are a little shaken up. SS knew they needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive and it showed today. Lets see how it was affected in this weeks Top 10:

Sabre Girl jumps back in at 10 on our top 10 list this week. As a dearly noted clinch made visible by Joe aka RiffRaff (Thank you Joe) via the report forum was made, Sabre Girl lessened MP's chances considerably of making a playoff spot.

Timm's inactivity drops him back down to the 9 spot where he was in week 11.

Winning for the 3rd week in a row after not playing a match since his week 1 loss, I'd say MP is getting ready for the playoffs. They are going to need Anil in week 14 to make that happen. Anil makes his top 10 debut at rank 7.

With a pivitol loss to SS's nick_ownzz in game 3 of the FR vs SS match today to make the match in favor of SS 2-1, Craig drops to 4th this week.

Jordy jumps to 3rd on our top 10 list with his hot streak of 6 wins in a row. Defeating soccergod last week and continuing to roll this week leaves the only undefeated player with 5 or more wins in G-I-T a 3rd place rank. Jordy turned his teams 0-1 record around today but it was not enough for MP as UO's Sabre Girl got the best of them in game 5.

2. FR_soccergod #1 (9-2)

Not playing again this week, along with the loss to Jordy #5 (wk 12) has sent soccergod down to the #2 spot for the first time in G-I-T's top 10 existence. Will he show up next week to help out a struggling FR squad on a 3 game skid?

I believe it is safe to say that with a 8 game win streak and a 9-1 record, along with the inactivity and loss of FR's soccergod #1, Nick has shown he can win in GIT. What boosts him into the top spot this week is his win vs #2 ranked player from week 12, FR's I_Am_Almost_God aka Craig.

G-I-T Week 13 Roundup

As the end of the day comes to a close, GIT Week 13 leaves us with a four-way tie for first place in the regular season. FR has a slight edge over Magic Pool and StraightShots with a 41-24 Game record. With only 1 week to play things are looking good for FR to take down the title against the bottomfeeder MIB team. On a 3 game skid will they finish with a win going into the playoffs? For SS, EPC, and MP they control their own fate. "Win and your in," will be the key to their destiny here in GIT season 1. This phrase pertains mostly to EPC and SS who play BP and UO respectively. As far as MP goes, they could really create a lot of havoc in the last remaining week as they play a 5th place SP. If SP wins this match, it will come down to a game record (I'm assuming) to decide the final playoff spot. Like i said a few posts back over break... this would be the game that would decide the playoff ranks, and it is. Heres what went down in GIT week 13.

Now as my opinion goes it shouldn't be manditory to say this but I will go ahead anywho. These Top 10 updates are not what will decide the league MVP in G-I-T. Timm has been up and down lately, winning vs SP to clinch 2 weeks ago, losing to Chris to blow the tiebreaker last week, and gaining a save here this week against SS. G-I-T Week 12 Roundup

Another eventful week for the likes of Global Interleague Trophy. Ultimate Outlaws as well as Brit Pool keep their playoff hopes alive with wins today bringing their records to 5-7 each. A little help in the next few weeks against SP/SS/EPC will help these teams gain entrance to the 9-man playoff series that awaits. Surprisingly UO takes down SP which dampens Sexy Poolers chances to put them at 6-6 with 2 weeks to play. G-I-T Week 11 Roundup

Andddddd back into action this fine week 11 of G-I-T. A few huge wins this week for teams that are on the bubble. Three out of four of my predictions went through while my EPC/MP prediction was significantly off and is a HUGE win for mp ending in a 2-2 tiebreak between MP's Chris and EPC's Timm. SP literally slides past FR this week winning 3-2 after being down 3-0. FR went up 3-0, and found out a tape had only saved half so 2-1 they went. Holiday Season! ~ What a great time of the year.

Christmas, Hannakuh, New Years.... festivities, presents, gifts, cookies, food. As the new year rolls around so does all of our good cheer. What resolutions have you made? Maybe to stop biting your fingernails, cracking your knuckles, or maybe start a workout routine!!! Well coming this 10th with G-I-T we will see who has been "working out" over the break.

A long 21 day wait has withdrawn G-I-T's 8 teams from competing. Except for a few. SS has been playing in wpc defeating an X8B team 5-2, and losing to SP. SP has been rolling in WPC defeating SS and is now in the finals. A few players have been competing in UCC Cam such as; Craig from FR (lost round 2 to sid), steve aka n00b.ski11z from MP (still alive in round 2 opponent tbd), king.2068 from SP (still alive in first round), and myself (losing round 2 to andy).

With that said, coming up in 2 days G-I-T will see who has been keeping uptodate with yahoo pools "yahoo's" and "aiming ball changes." Which leagues will be on there game in the crucial 4 remaining weeks of G-I-T's regular season?? I wish every team a very happy holidays, merry new year, and good luck in the remaining season of Global Interleague Trophy.

Taking a look at the upcoming weeks in GIT I will make my predictions:

Week 11:

Ultimate Outlaws (4-6) vs Brit Pool (3-7)
-Brit pool is on a 3 game skid, along with the 21 day break who knows if they will be ready to play this outlaws team. If trey shows up with the squad ready to go i believe they can take this win. If they want any shot at the playoffs this will be the starting point. If UO wins here brit pool is out of the playoff race indefinately as their best record on out would be 6-8.

I take Brit Pool here 3-2.

Freedom(8-2) vs Sexy Poolerz(5-5)

FR is only on a 2 game win streak defeating BP and UO. SP has been on a roll lately and has been playing during the break. I am going to see this one as an SP upset due to the fact that it is a must win for them. If they take it as seriously as i think they will, SP needs to win this one.

I take Sexy Poolerz here 3-2.

Extreme Pool Competitors(6-4) vs Magic Pool(6-4)

EPC and MP. EPC being a no show 2 (actual) weeks ago and then defeating SP 3-2 shows some drive to win. However 3 new players played (2 of which winning) in their defeat of SP. Magic Pool on the other hand had MIB in the last week of play before the holidays and who knows if they have been playing during the break. I see MP taking a "break" in their play here,

I take EPC here 4-1.

Money In The Bank(2-8) vs Straight Shots(6-4)

As MIB has been a very sporting league this season, I just don't think they will have enough to take down Nigel and his SS troups in this contest. A lot of SS members have been playing throughout the past few weeks and I am unsure of whether MIB has been doing the same.

I take SS here 4-1.


As week 11 will come to a close here would be the standings had all my predictions been right:

FR - 8-3
SS - 7-4
EPC - 7-4
MP - 6-5
SP - 6-5
BP - 4-7
UO - 4-7
MIB - 2-9

Week 12:

Note: now knowing if the above senarios fall through then the blow senarios will too, here are my predictions:

Brit Pool (4-7) vs MIB (2-9)

MIB could take this win, but I would have a feeling trey and the boys having won week 11, would want to keep their dim playoff hopes alive.

I take Brit Pool here 4-1

SS (7-4) vs EPC (7-4)

This will definately be the game of the week. Whoever wins this match will have a much easier chance at making the playoffs. With only 2 weeks remaining this match will be what separates the best from the rest. This will be a VERY close match but i feel you all must know i have to go with this decision:

I take SS here 3-2 (in game 5 final shannon vs tim.)

MP (6-5) vs FR (8-3)

I believe FR will bounce back from losing to SP in week 11 and secure a playoff spot by winning their 9th match of the season. With only 2 weeks left to go all that will remain up for grabs for FR is playoff home field advantage.

I take FR here 4-1

SP (6-5) vs UO (4-7)

SP should win this one with a playoff birth in sight.

I take SP 4-1.

IF FR wins they clinch a playoff spot and clinch at least a share of the regular season crown.
IF SS wins they clinch a playoff spot and have a shot at the regular season crown.

EPC (7-5) vs MIB (2-10)

IF EPC wins and MP loses they clinch a spot in the playoffs
MIB is out of playoff contention

UO (4-8) vs MP (6-6)

IF MP wins they are still in the chase for a playoff spot and will need to beat SP in week 14 to get in.
UO is out of playoff contention
SP (7-5) vs BP (5-7)

IF SP wins and MP loses they clinch a spot in the playoffs.
IF BP wins they still have a dim shot at making the playoffs.

With all of this "could happen, might happen, prediction" business... what it comes down too is weeks 11 and 12 are going to set up a crucial final 2 weeks of G-I-T 1.
